## What are badges?

Linity badges can be seen as “**digital collectibles**” that users can unlock to get new abilities within the Linity ecosystem. While some are earned based on the time a user joined the Linity ecosystem, many badges are earned based on user activities.

Some badges on Linity include:

* **Linity OG** badge - for the earliest users of Linity
* **Alpha Tester** badge - which gives the users access to test Linity’s new features first
* **Beta Tester** badge - which gives access to test Linity’s new features after they have been refined, but before they become available to the wider public.
* **Personalisation Master** badge - which allows a user to customise their content preferences and difficulty level on Linity

When a user first joins Linity they have no badge, but once they have been able to perform certain activities as prescribed by the Linity team, they will be able to unlock the associated badge which will give them new abilities within Linity.
